Know Before You Go ---to your On-call job---

We've all heard that before, right? Right.

So what is the most important thing to know before going to an On-call job?
Is it the phone number, the address, directions, the family name, the dog's name??

It's the correct address with specific directions.

The street of St. Louis and St. Charles can get a little confusing especially with
ALL the construction. This street is closed, that one is now one-way, etc.....

We used to recommend driving the route a day or two before the actual job but now
with gas prices touching near $4.00 a gallon, we highly recommend doing a thorough
online map search....with at least 2 map sources. And of course, make sure they make
it out to the car!

What to do if you get lost: Do not panic nor get flustered. Call the family immediately.
If no answer, call your agency. (assuming you are working through an agency) They will
either call the family for you and/or guide you to their home from your location.

When you arrive to the home, smile, apologize, thank them for requesting you and assure them the children are in good hands.

Know (directions) before you go!
